Recovery Isn't One-Size-Fits-All
The path to recovery is deeply personal—and traditional support systems too often miss the moments that matter most. Ebby™ was built to change that: to learn from your journey, anticipate risk, and deliver personalized support before you even ask.
The experience I had in treatment in 2005 was life-changing in almost every way.
I entered rehab a scared, immature, cocky young man, convinced the treatment team would teach me how to drink and use drugs “normally.”
I emerged just as scared, immature, and cocky, but with one crucial difference: I knew I had a problem. Not just with substances, but—as I'd learned—with the entire way I was living my life.
But applying what I’d learned in rehab to the life I returned to was harder—and lonelier—than I ever imagined.
I’d had an experience that felt real and transformative, but no one in my life truly understood it. No one knew what I needed when I walked back out into the world.
My friends certainly didn’t get it. I couldn’t really explain it. So I did the only thing I knew how: I tried to live the same life I had before—only this time, sober.
But that experience was uniquely mine.
The reason I went to rehab (to keep my job) and the reasons I stayed sober afterward (to build a relationship with my daughter, to deal with legal issues, to become someone my family could be proud of) were deeply personal.
Sure, I shared pieces of my story with others in treatment. But the specifics—my triggers, my motivations, my mental framework—were mine alone.
The things that happened to me (or, more honestly, the things I brought upon myself), and how I responded to them, were different than everyone else’s.
The truth is that recovery doesn’t follow a script. Every person’s path into addiction—and out of it—is different. So is the life they return to afterward.
That’s why we built Ebby™.
Ebby™ was designed to reflect what I—and so many others—have experienced firsthand: that support needs to be personal, flexible, and proactive.
Ebby™ learns your patterns, your pain points, your motivations—and delivers support that fits your life, not someone else’s.
Because the problem with most recovery tools is that they’re reactive, one-size-fits-all, and they miss the narrow window to intervene before a high-risk moment turns into a relapse.
Ebby™ changes that. It listens. It learns. And over time, it begins to understand what kind of support you need, and when you need it most.
Because recovery isn’t just about getting help. It’s about getting the right help, at the right time.
That’s what Ebby™ was built for.
And it’s what I wish I had back then.
