The Opportunity
Join a fast-moving, mission-driven startup and gain hands-on experience building a first-of-its-kind AI recovery companion. This isn’t a “watch and learn” internship—it’s a chance to directly shape the MVP of a product that could change lives.
You'll work on high-priority features like:
Developing the voice and text chat interface with Ebby, powered by the OpenAI SDK and backed by Supabase
Implementing AI-powered journaling with dynamic memory and contextual insights
Creating personalized coping strategies and guided mindfulness exercises
Building simple, functional UI for daily check-ins and mood tracking
Ensuring secure authentication and data storage via Supabase
This is a hands-on role where you’ll write real code, solve real problems, and work closely with a small, passionate team of builders, researchers, and designers. You’ll also get a front-row seat to what it takes to bring an AI-powered health product from concept to launch.
Responsibilities
Build and refine the core voice and text chat interface using the OpenAI SDK and Supabase
Develop AI-powered journaling with contextual memory and real-time feedback
Implement personalized coping strategies and guided mindfulness exercises
Create functional, user-friendly UI for daily check-ins and mood tracking
Manage user authentication and data storage securely via Supabase
Participate in weekly team check-ins and async collaboration across product, engineering, and clinical teams
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, HCI, or a related field
Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a fast-paced startup environment
Familiarity with Python, JavaScript (React/Node), Supabase, or OpenAI’s API is helpful—but curiosity and self-direction matter more
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail—you care about writing clean, functional code
Passionate about using technology to support mental health, recovery, or other social good

Compensation
$35/hour base rate, with potential increases to $40–$45/hour for contributions to advanced AI or core frontend modules.
