Recovery Needs Assessment Study

Recovery doesn't stop when treatment does. The months after someone leaves are when support is hardest to find, and hardest for the people who cared for them here to see.
RecoveryAI is building Ebby, an AI companion for people in recovery, from the first days of treatment through the months after. Before it goes any further, we're working with the Butler Center for Research to ask the people who know this best what it should do, what it should understand about a person, and what it should never do.
If you're in treatment at Hazelden, we'll ask what's actually helping now, what you expect to be hard after you leave, who you turn to, and how you already use your phone in your recovery. Then we'll describe what Ebby is meant to do and ask what you think. Would a daily check-in help, or get ignored? Would you rather talk to it or type? What would you want it to know about you, and what wouldn't you? What would make you delete it?
If you work at Hazelden in any role that touches a patient's recovery, we'll ask how you can tell when someone is struggling, what you'd want to know and what would just be noise, what an AI companion should and shouldn't be doing with your patients, who it would help and who it would leave behind, and what it would take for you to recommend it.
Nobody uses Ebby in this study. It's a conversation, and what you say will shape what gets built.
